WHAS'UP LATELY!

It has been about 2 years since I last posted on my blog. My life has gone through so many changes just like almost every human being in this world now. I moved out to another city for employment and because we also lost our house. I have a full time job now thankfully!!! I work for an Art College and I help creative students find their right career program. I help them prepare for their first class, and overcome fears and challenges related to their education. I also help them with guidance, counsel, and support, while they are moving forward in their new path.

Some of the challenges I have struggled with is maintaining balance between work and home. Some days I do better than others…and some other days I suck at it!! Lol but I am working at getting better on that. I have had to give up many activities for the sake of sanity and I have discovered new practices which have become very helpful and fulfilling to me. For instance, I’ve joined a sisterhood purification sweat lodge group last fall and we meet once a month and this is a very special spiritual ceremony I rejoice every time and I am very grateful for. I have also made wonderful new friendships in this new town of Phoenix, AZ.

I wasn’t able to do much painting for a while since most of my focus was on getting my life more stable. However, I was able to find a creative outlet I can express myself with when I didn’t have much space for painting… I was creating songs and music; which has been another passion of mine since I was a child. I have been doing a little bit of writing too. Until recently, we were able to move to a new place that will allow me to have more space for my painting and other creative expressions I enjoy.

The most recent challenge has been the “ALL” day sickness I have experienced during my pregnancy (first trimester)---I tell you, sometimes shaving my legs is a big accomplishment!!! I have been very tired and feeling nausea…not fun at all!!! It actually sucks!!! Today is a miracle!!!! I woke up with a little more energy and feeling less nausea. I am so excited, I wanted to take an opportunity to take care of home responsibilities and some creative tasks I have been wanting to do for a long while…I am very grateful for today…trust me, I have experienced very challenging days due to “ALL” day sickness. I am sure if you have been pregnant and went through this, you know what I mean right?!?

Well, this has been nice. I am happy to be somehow back into my art game---at least little by little!!! I am looking forward to creating more art, poems, and music soon…And sharing it all with ya’ll. Got to go now…home duties call!!! Thanks for reading.

Blessings,

Emelina
